Basically, all hospitals and personnel would be required to provide abortions, regardless of their personal beliefs. I seem to remember some bishops saying that they would rather close down Catholic hospitals than submit to such a law. I wonder how this will play out.

I wonder too. What these regulations mean is hard to determine. Other laws remain on the books protecting doctors and nurses from having to participate in abortions unwillingly. I repeatedly tried to get some examples from pro-life groups of how this law failed to protect people from unwillingly partipating in abortion and came up empty handed.
I would also have liked to see the new regulations remain in place to see if there were some actual examples of it going too far. I certainly do not have a problem in repealing the new regulations so far as no longer allowing doctors to refuse to treat gay people.
